During the walk, you will learn details about the history of Empress Elisabeth as well as her daily life in Vienna and on her travels. Gain an insight into the truelife of Empress Elisabeth of Austria-Hungary, also known as Sisi.

During the short walk, you will visit the church where the Habsburgs were married, including the French queen Marie Antoinette, who was born and raised in Vienna.

See the stables where the famous Lipizzaner horses live and
walk through the main courtyards of the Imperial Hofburg. After visiting the Hofburg, the tour ends

in the beautiful Volksgarten, one of Vienna’s most popular photo spots.

Join us on a Vienna walking tour through the iconic Hofburg Palace, the former imperial residence and seat of the powerful Habsburg dynasty for over 640 years. Augustinian Church

The Church of St. Augustine, better known as the Augustinian Church, was opened in 1339 and exudes a very special atmosphere. 515 years later, it was the venue for the wedding of Elisabeth, then Princess of Bavaria, and Franz Joseph, Emperor of Austria, Apostolic King of Hungary, and King of Bohemia.

Imperial Apartments

The Vienna Hofburg served as the residence and workplace of the imperial couple. They lived here with their entire court. Every room is a highlight: the Imperial Apartments extend over 24 rooms, from Franz Joseph’s Imperial Staircase to his study and bedrooms.

Sisi Museum

The Sisi Museum is a real attraction, because here you can get to know Sisi in her original surroundings. The museum focuses on the entire life and work of the empress, from her youth in Bavaria to her life at the court of Vienna and her tragic death and its consequences.

Meet your tour guide at Albertina Platz 1, 1010 Vienna. Your tour guide will be holding a green umbrella next to the fountain, the large bus, and the hot dog stand with the green rabbit on the roof. Please be punctual, as this is a live tour. No refunds will be given for late arrivals or no-shows.

 Schonbrunn. A must see in Vienna. Schonbrunn is absolutely magnificent. The palace grounds are breathtaking with its beautiful gardens, wonderful architecture, the Gloriet and the Tier Garten (the oldest zoo in the world). You can visit the Palmhaus and the Carriage Haus as well which are worth paying to see. Schonbrunn is an all day tour if you want to see it all. A word of advice; it is massive and you will do alot of walking. You can take the palace yellow train which allows you to get on and off at several places including the Gloriet and the Tier Garten which require a lot of uphill walking. A must see if you are in Vienna. You won't be disappointed.

 Best thing we did in Vienna - 100% recommend Dieter was probably the best tour guide I've ever had around a city. He was extremely knowledgeable, clear, and brought Vienna alive with his commentary. The tour is perfect for history buffs and those interested in WW2, but is also very accessible to those with a basic knowledge interested in knowing Austria's involvement in the war. Dieter was also very considerate of everyone's needs on a very hot day, always finding and pointing out shaded spots, water fountains and seats, which was very much appreciated. The tour flew by - thank you for a wonderful time and all the fascinating insight!

 A fascinating and educational experience This tour showed us just how much history Vienna has. It was great to explore the city and learn about its main buildings. Our tour guide was fantastic she was so knowledgeable! We went during August which was quite hot and she made sure we could get water, sit down and stand in the shade. She also encouraged questions during our tour.

 Lovely Experience Visiting the palace was a wonderful experience, definitely worth viewing. You can easily spend 5-6 hours visiting various areas of the palace. We spent time visiting the inside if the palace and then there were several beautiful gardens, including the privy garden and the orangery garden which were both worth it and included in the the classic ticket. The maze was okay but definitely fun for kids. The view from the top of the observatory was amazing and worth the walk. Make sure you carry lots of water when it’s hot. You can also enjoy the cafe on site. It is worth doing this visit when in Vienna.

 Dieter was our kind and knowledgeable guide. He did a great job, explaining details clearly and finding shade for our group during the garden part of the tour. 
 
 We took the yellow train around the grounds for more sightseeing. It added another 90 minutes to our day at Schonnbrunn as we stopped for lunch at the top. Could easily spend half-day there. So much to explore.

 Thank you Alessandra! We joined a 3pm tour. Our guide Alessandra was wonderful. She gave a clear overview of our tour to set exploration and paced the walk very well. She was very informative on the palace and down to the point of what our options were when the tour finished at 5pm in the garden. We chose to stay for another 1.5 hours in the garden when most of the day tours were gone.

 Good Lisa was great, this tour was just the right length and she was very knowledgeable about the space. Being able to skip the line was nice but it was a bit rainy the day we went so the line wasn't really that much to deal with.

 Good value great tour. I finally got the joke that good audio tours were perhaps better than human guides because you got more of the totality of the property and not just what the guide wanted to show. This was a well done tour and on the earlier side so crowds were manageable.
